EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Russell Lang, PhD., BCBA-D
Professor of Special Education
Russell Lang, Ph.D., BCBA-D, is a Professor of Special Education and serves as the Executive Director of CARES. He earned his PhD in Special Education with an emphasis in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and early childhood developmental disabilities from the University of Texas at Austin. His primary research interests involve the treatment of challenging behavior and improving play skills in individuals with autism spectrum disorders. He also writes and lectures on evidence-based practice and the importance of a scientific approach to treatment. Dr. Lang serves on the editorial review board for the American Journal of Intellectual and Developmental Disability, Behavior Analysis in Practice, Journal of Development and Physical Disabilities, Behavior Modification, Journal of Child and Family Sciences, Learning Disability Quarterly, Journal of Behavioral Education, Journal of Intellectual and Developmental Disability and he is a former Editor-in-Chief of the international peer-reviewed journal Developmental Neurorehabilitation.

Katy Davenport, MEd, BCBA
Senior Lecturer
Katy Davenport, M.Ed., BCBA, is a Senior Lecturer and serves as the Clinical Services Director for CARES. Katy earned her Master’s Degree in Special Education with an emphasis in Autism and Early Childhood Developmental disabilities from the University of Texas at Austin. She is Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) with over 20 years of experience working with individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities in homes, schools, worksites, and clinical settings. As the CARES Clinical Services Director, Katy’s supervises direct services, manages client treatment programs, consults with families and school districts, manages grant projects, contributes to research, and assists with efforts to further develop the clinic and special education program at Texas State University.

ASSISTANT CLINIC MANAGER
Allyson Lee M.Ed., BCBA
Allye Lee, M.Ed., BCBA is an Assistant Manager with CARES and comes directly from the Texas State University AU/ABA Masters program. She was the Graduate Research Assistant (GRA) within the CARES Clinic prior to graduating. Allye is a certified special education teacher in the state of Texas and has worked in the school, home, and clinic settings. Specifically, she has developed and maintained clinical programs for children with autism, conducted trainings and collaborated with public school teachers in the surrounding areas, and collaborated with parents in the community for parent training.

ASSISTANT CLINIC MANAGER
Caitlin Murphy M.Ed., BCBA
Caitlin Murphy, M.Ed., BCBA is an Assistant Manager at CARES Educational Clinic and a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. She holds a master’s in Special Education with an emphasis in autism and applied behavior analysis from Texas State University. Caitlin has experience working with individuals with autism in clinic, home and school settings. Her role as an Assistant Manager include consulting with school districts, supervising graduate students, conducting parent training and helping to develop and implement individualized programs.

FOUNDER
Jo Webber, Ph.D., Retired Professor of Special Education
Jo Webber, PhD, retired professor of Special Education, taught at Texas State University for 26 years. She began her professional career in 1976 teaching students with autism and emotional and behavioral disorders and continues to consult with school districts across the country about educational programs for students with autism. Dr. Webber was the first director of the Austin-Travis County MHMR Autism Center and currently serves as chair of the Austin Regional Task Force for Autism reporting to the Texas Council on Autism and Pervasive Developmental Disorders.
Dr. Webber has co-authored three books, Autism: Teaching DOES Make a Difference (Wadsworth, 2002), Emotional and Behavioral Disorders: Theory to Practice (Allyn & Bacon, 2008), and Educating Students with Autism: A Quickstart Manual (Pro-Ed, 2008), and served as president of the International Council for Children with Behavioral Disorders, a division of the International Council for Exceptional Children.
In 2006, while serving as the College of Education Associate Dean for Research, she founded the Clinic for Autism Research, Evaluation, and Support (CARES) as a multi-disciplinary clinic serving children and youth with autism and their families. She served as Executive Director of CARES until June 2012 and plans to continue being involved with CARES activities.
